June has seen a slow down in consumer credit and mortgage lending according to the Bank of England's figures.

In June consumer credit grew by £1.28 billion which was a drop of £400 million on the previous month of May.

We slowed our spending on credit cards shown by the smallest monthly rise for four years, rising by only £335 million.

Mortgage lending rose by £7.5 billion in contrast to £8 billion for the month of May.

This is pointing to the fact that we are now changing our opinions of our debt and looking at better ways of managing our finances.
